The Corinth Canal Museum
Cultural
We proudly present the Corinth Canal Museum, our crowning achievement,
having clinched the top prize in the AEDIK architectural competition. Our
design philosophy draws from neoclassical architecture, filtered through a
lens of simplicity.
Characterized by solidity, robustness, symmetry, and expansive verandas with
cement railings, the museum exudes a sense of completeness, seriousness,
and tranquility. It aims to unfold a rich narrative, paying homage to significant
events like the opening of the Corinth Canal, alongside the numerous
artworks housed within its walls.
The distinctive silhouette of the existing structure, coupled with its wealth of
knowledge and the demands of contemporary usage, significantly influenced
the design. Drawing inspiration from 19th-century European neoclassical
architectural trends, we aimed to create a landmark that stands out for its
imposing character, carries the weight of its history, and leaves a lasting
impression on visitors.
One of the defining elements that elevate neoclassical buildings artistically is
their poetic essence, expressed through color. Through the proposed color
palette, we aim to convey a sense of harmony and sophistication while
asserting authority.
